How to Pack Lamps and Lampshades the Right Way

Lamps and lampshades are among the most delicate pieces you have in your house. You can't just put these in the box when you move. There are proper ways you need to do to protect these lamps and lampshades from possible damages. Here are some tips on how you can pack these delicate items the right way:

·
Use something as cushion for the lampshade. You can use rolls of crumpled papers or packing papers, called bumpers, to cushion the box where the lampshade will be put in. The cushion should be about three to four inches thick.

·
Separate the lampshade pieces. Remove the light bulb and the harp of the lamp before packing these and wrapping these individually using packing paper. Then, you can put them in one box together.

·
The shade should be packed separately in an appropriate size of moving box. You can use 1.5 to 6.1 cubic foot box. The shade should be packed individually and should be cushioned as well. Just don't overdo cushioning because this will damage the shades.

·
The lamp should be wrapped with bubblewrap or brown paper before putting it in the box. You can also pack more than one lamps in one box but make sure you'll use a lot of bumpers or other materials as cushion for the sides, bottom, and top of the box.

By following these tips, you can make sure that your beautiful and delicate lamps will be delivered to the new place without any damage.
